Taylor Swift’s “Shake it Off” Hits Top 25 at Pop, Charli XCX #3

The first full day of airplay is in the books, and it was as massive as expected.

According to Mediabase, Taylor Swift’s “Shake it Off” received 2,129 pop radio spins Tuesday. Combined with the 842 spins it received during the evening hours Monday, “Shake it Off” has been played enough to rank as the #25 song for the seven days ending August 19.

Those 2,971 pop spins garnered 22.90 million impressions, which amounts to the format’s 19th-largest audience count.

Not restricted to the pop format, “Shake” is also making waves at Hot Adult Contemporary. The song has thus far received 1,077 spins from Hot AC programmers and ranks as the format’s 27th-most-played song.

— Also at pop radio: Charli XCX’s “Booom Clap,” which is expected to be the format’s next number one, reached a new peak of #3 for the seven days ending August 19. Still rising, it only trails Sam Smith’s declining #1 “Stay with Me” and MAGIC!’s declining #2 “Rude.”

— Ariana Grande’s “Break Free (featuring Zedd)” climbs to a new peak of #8, while Clean Bandit’s “Rather Be (featuring Jess Glynne)” jumps up to #9.
