MTV Taps Nicki Minaj to Perform “Anaconda” at VMAs

Added by more than 100 radio stations across three formats this week, Nicki Minaj’s “Anaconda” made it clear it is here to stay.

And to cement that refusal to fade quietly into the night, Minaj will perform the song live at the Sunday, August 24 MTV Video Music Awards.

The performance, which had been rumored for weeks leading up to MTV’s official announcement Wednesday, will represent the television debut for the song.

Other confirmed performers include Iggy Azalea (with Rita Ora), Usher, Ariana Grande, 5 Seconds of Summer, Maroon 5 and Beyonce. Taylor Swift will perform on the show, but MTV has not formally announced her participation.
