Iggy Azalea confirmed Friday morning that she and Rita Ora will perform their collaboration “Black Widow” at the 2014 MTV Video Music Awards.
The gig represents additional high-profile exposure for Azalea, who ranks alongside Sam Smith as the year’s biggest pop music breakout.
It meanwhile represents the second big televised performance for Ora, who was previously confirmed for Sunday’s Teen Choice Awards.
Azalea and Ora join previously confirmed performers Beyonce, Usher, Maroon 5, Ariana Grande and 5 Seconds of Summer. MTV has not yet formally announced Taylor Swift for the lineup, but sources say she is definitely set to perform on the August 24 broadcast.
Nearing entry into the Top 10 on iTunes, “Black Widow” is the #15 song on Mediabase’s pop radio airplay chart. It hit a new high of #19 on this week’s Billboard Hot 100.
