Echosmith’s “Cool Kids” Goes Top 25 at Pop, The 1975 Hits Top 40

Echosmith by Jonathan Weiner

As buzz for Echosmith’s “Cool Kids” continues to grow, so too, naturally, does its position on the pop radio airplay chart.

“Cool Kids,” which is positioned comfortably at #16 on the Hot Adult Contemporary airplay chart, officially moves into the Top 25 at pop.

According to Mediabase, it was the pop format’s 25th-most-played song for the seven days ending August 7. It commanded 2,577 spins during that period, which represents a solid week-over-week gain of 535.

Now supported by New York’s powerhouse station Z100, “Cool Kids” is poised to only rise higher in the coming weeks.

Its weekly audience impression count of 13.22 million was the 24th-largest at pop.

— It is not within striking distance of the Top 30, let alone the Top 25, but The 1975’s “Girls” is now officially on the map. The song rises to #40 on Mediabase’s rolling airplay chart thanks to 1,040 spins during the aforementioned seven day period.

Based on its current pacing, it should quickly leapfrog Fifth Harmony’s #38 “Bo$$” and Steve Aoki, Chris Lake and Tujamo’s #39 “Delirious (Boneless featuring Kid Ink).”
