Jason Aldean Tops Digital Sales Chart, Meghan Trainor Hits Top 10

It appears label Broken Bow actually understated the debut week sales count for Jason Aldean’s “Burnin’ it Down.”

While the label’s ad in Country Aircheck Weekly touted an opening week total of approximately 178,000, Billboard says the song moved 184,000 copies in its first week. The paid download count, which narrowly exceeds the 182,000 moved by Florida Georgia Line’s “Dirt” earlier this month, drives the Aldean tune to #1 on Billboard’s Hot Digital Songs chart.

MAGIC!’s “Rude,” which endured a 21% sales dip this week, settles for #2 on the chart with 154,000 paid downloads. Sam Smith’s “Stay With Me” follows at #3 with 144,000, while Iggy Azalea’s “Fancy (featuring Charli XCX)” (123,000, #4) and Nico and Vinz’ “Am I Wrong” (114,000, #5) complete the top five.

Fueled by the duo’s appearance on NBC’s “The Tonight Show,” the Nico and Vinz track was one of only two top ten songs (the new Aldean track is obviously excluded) to enjoy a weekly sales uptick.

The other? Meghan Trainor’s “All About That Bass,” which enjoyed a 61% sales gain to 103,000. It surges twelve places to #6 on the Digital Songs chart.

Maroon 5’s “Maps” (103,000, #7), Ariana Grande’s “Problem (featuring Iggy Azalea)” (100,000, #8), Florida Georgia Line’s “Dirt” (95,000, #9) and Charli XCX’s “Boom Clap” (87,000, #10) round out the top ten.
