Sam Smith’s “Stay With Me” Hits #3; MAGIC! Still Rules Hot 100

Thanks to strong streaming and airplay gains, Sam Smith’s “Stay With Me” reaches a new peak on the Billboard Hot 100.

According to the publication, the song rises to #3 on the weekly, all-encompassing single track chart. Only MAGIC!’s “Rude,” which reigns at #1 for a second week, and Iggy Azalea’s “Fancy (featuring Charli XCX),” which spends its second straight week in the runner-up slot, rank higher on the Hot 100.

The week’s top three singles are the respective artists’ first Hot 100 entries as lead artists. Not since April 2012, when Gotye’s “Somebody That I Used to Know (featuring Kimbra),” fun.’s “We Are Young (featuring Janelle Monae)” and The Wanted’s “Glad You Came” occupied the respective #1, #2 and #3 positions, have the week’s top three songs been debut Hot 100 hits.

Ariana Grande’s “Problem (featuring Iggy Azalea)” and Nico and Vinz’ “Am I Wrong” occupy the #4 and #5 slots, respectively.

John Legend’s “All of Me” (#6), Maroon 5’s “Maps” (#7), Jason DeRulo’s “Wiggle (featuring Snoop Dogg)” (#8), Disclosure’s “Latch (featuring Sam Smith)” (#9) and Calvin Harris’ “Summer” (#10) form the rest of the top ten.
