5 Seconds of Summer's debut album instantly surges to #1 on the album sales chart.

A lock for number one on next week’s Billboard 200, 5 Seconds of Summer’s self-titled debut album wasted no time making its presence felt on iTunes.

Separate versions of the album, which received more than 115,000 pre-orders to set the Universal Music Group record, instantly claimed the top two spots on iTunes’ album sales chart immediately upon release Tuesday.

As of press time at 12:25 AM ET, the $11.99 bonus edition holds the top position on the chart. The $9.99 standard issue sits in second place.

The four-piece pop-rock act also has six songs in the Top 200 on iTunes Single Sales Chart. New single “Amnesia” leads the way at #36, while US debut single “She Looks So Perfect” (#37), “Everything I Didn’t Say” (#50), “Good Girls” (#70), “Don’t Stop” (#83) and “Kiss Me Kiss Me” (#84) all follow.

Because the pre-order total for 5SOS’ album will represent a significantly larger percentage of first week purchases than is typical for new releases, a firm first week sales estimate is not yet available. Industry sources are, however, confident in the album’s ability to debut with a total of more than 200,000 sales.

Other top ten albums on iTunes include Jason Mraz’ holdover “Yes!” (#3), R5′s new “Heart Made Up On You” EP (#4), Crown the Empire’s new “The Resistance: Rise of the Runaways” (#5), La Roux’s new “Trouble in Paradise” (#6), Weird Al’s holdover “Mandatory Fun” (#7), Anberlin’s new (and final) “Lowborn” (#8), Common’s new “Nobody’s Smiling” (#9) and Blake Shelton’s enduring (and discounted) “Based on a True Story” (#10).
