Tyler Farr’s “Whiskey in My Water” Takes Over #1 at Country

As expected, Chris Young’s stint atop Mediabase’s rolling country airplay chart was a short one.

After ranking as the number one song for the seven days ending July 11, Young’s “Who I Am With You” slipped to #2 for the seven days ending July 12. Tyler Farr’s “Whiskey in My Water,” which earned 63 more country radio spins over the measured period, was the format’s most-played song.

Already ahead of “Who I Am With You,” the Farr song is virtually certain to retain the #1 position in the official weekly Mediabase report, which is published Sunday evening.

Despite being the most-played song at one point, “Who I Am With You,” therefore, will not get to reign as an official Mediabase #1.

Other songs currently in the Top 5 include Joe Nichols’ “Yeah” (#3), Jake Owen’s “Beachin'” (#4) and Billy Currington’s “We Are Tonight” (#5).
