Iggy Azalea’s “Fancy” Scores Seventh Week at #1 on Hot 100

Iggy Azalea’s breakthrough single “Fancy” is so successful – you already know.

What you did not know until this moment, however, is the fact that the song, which features Charli XCX, reigns atop the Billboard Hot 100 for a seventh consecutive week.

Billboard confirmed the news in its official update Wednesday. It also revealed that by virtue of scoring a seventh consecutive week at #1, “Fancy” ties Adele’s “Rolling in the Deep” as the decade’s fifth-biggest Hot 100 hit from a lead female artist.

Rihanna’s “We Found Love (featuring Calvin Harris)” claims the #1 spot on that list with 10 consecutive weeks at number one, while Lorde’s “Royals,” Carly Rae Jepsen’s “Call Me Maybe” and Ke$ha’s “Tik Tok” all follow in second place with nine-week stints at the top.

Attention now turns to whether this week will mark the end of Azalea’s stay at #1.

According to Billboard, MAGIC!’s #2 song “Rude” is rapidly closing the gap. Separated by 14 chart points last week, “Rude” comes within six points of “Fancy” on this week’s edition of the chart.

Ariana Grande’s “Problem (featuring Iggy Azalea)” repeats at #3 on the chart this week, while Nico and Vinz’ “Am I Wrong” holds at four. Sam Smith’s “Stay With Me” again lands in fifth place.

Other songs in the top ten: Jason DeRulo’s “Wiggle (featuring Snoop Dogg)” (6), Calvin Harris’ “Summer” (7), John Legend’s “All Of Me” (8), Maroon 5’s “Maps” (9) and DJ Snake & Lil Jon’s “Turn Down for What” (10).

The Maroon 5 track makes its Top 10 debut this week.
