Kenny Chesney Scores Again at Country, Joey Hyde, RaeLynn Debut

Despite landing at more than one hundred stations last week, Kenny Chesney’s red-hot “American Kids” found a great many more stations at which to debut this week.

According to Mediabase, the song landed at another 56 stations to repeat as country radio’s most-added track. The additional support will help “Kids,” which is already the format’s 24th-most-played song, continue its surefire–and rapid–ascent into the upper reaches of the airplay chart.

While its airplay growth slowed this week, Sam Hunt’s “Leave the Night On” remains an attractive option for country radio programmers. Supported by iHeartRadio’s On the Verge program, the track scored adds from another 27 stations this week.

Rascal Flatts’ “Payback” claimed third for the week with 26 adds, while a pair of newcomers ranked as fourth- and fifth-most-added.

Joey Hyde’s “Get it On” and RaeLynn’s “God Made Girls,” those newcomers, arrived at 25 and 22 stations, respectively.

Keith Urban’s recently-released “Somewhere in My Car” followed with 21 adds, while Craig Morgan’s new “We’ll Come Back Around” was seventh-most-added with 19 pickups. John King’s “Tonight Tonight,” which is inching towards the Top 40 on the airplay chart, also scored 19 adds this week.

Luke Bryan’s latest single “Roller Coaster” landed at 17 stations ahead of its official impact, while Eric Church’s “Cold One,” Miranda Lambert and Carrie Underwood’s “Somethin’ Bad” and Thompson Square’s “I Can’t Outrun you” all tied for tenth with eleven adds.

Since Mediabase’s airplay chart only includes data from monitored reporters, it is worth looking at how songs specifically fared with those stations:

1) Kenny Chesney – American Kids – 33 monitored adds
2) Joey Hyde – Get it On – 24 monitored adds
3) RaeLynn – God Made Girls – 22 monitored adds
4) Craig Morgan – We’ll Come Back Around – 18 monitored adds
4) Rascal Flatts – Payback – 18 monitored adds
6) Sam Hunt – Leave the Night On – 17 monitored adds
7) John King – Tonight Tonight – 14 monitored adds
7) Keith Urban – Somewhere in My Car – 14 monitored adds
9) Luke Bryan – Roller Coaster – 11 monitored adds
9) Thompson Square – I Can’t Outrun You – 11 monitored adds
