FX’s “The Americans” Ratings Drop to Series Low

Vulnerable to the same ratings weakness that affected numerous broadcast series this week, FX’s “The Americans” dipped to series low ratings Wednesday.

“Stealth,” Wednesday’s episode, dipped to a mere 0.3 adults 18-49 rating with 1.12 million viewers. Both numbers represent lows for the critically acclaimed series, which is currently in the late stages of its second season.

Easing the sting of the performance is the fact that the show has already earned a third season at FX. It also remains a very strong performer on DVR.

Still, given the continued acclaim for the show’s second season, the fact that it could not hold onto the entirety of last week’s audience–let alone build on it–is irrefutably disappointing.
