Rita Ora’s “I Will Never Let You Down” Sales Hit 18K, MKTO Nears Top 10

Hyping its current slate of pop singles, Columbia Records announced that Rita Ora’s “I Will Never Let You Down” garnered 18,000 paid downloads in its first week of availability.

Supported by Ora’s “colorful” performance on NBC’s “The Tonight Show,” the single made its iTunes debut on April 22. It currently ranks as #95 on the e-tailer’s overall single sales chart.

Currently receiving spins from Sirius XM Hits 1, KISS 95.7 in Hartford and Hot 100.9 in Richmond, “I Will Never Let You Down” officially impacts Top 40 radio the week of May 5.

— While Ora’s track is just beginning to make its climb, MKTO’s “Classic” is seeking to ascend the next rung of the ladder. Currently #14 on iTunes, Columbia is confident the song is “heading top 10.” [Other songs for which a top ten iTunes run appears likely are Paramore’s “Ain’t it Fun” (#11) and Nico and Vinz’ “Am I Wrong” (#12)].

To date, the MKTO track has garnered 675,000 paid downloads. It is #20 on the latest edition of Mediabase’s Top 40 airplay chart.
