“The Other Woman” Dominates Box Office, “Quiet Ones” Bombs

The reign of “Captain America: Winter Soldier” is officially over.

Despite its poor reviews, comedy “The Other Woman” will cruise to a weekend box office victory.

The film opened to a dominant $9.3 million Friday, which topped the $4.5 million earned by “Captain.” Holdover “Heaven is for Real” followed with $4.1 million.

Promoted almost entirely around its inclusion of the late Paul Walker, “Brick Mansions” settled for a lukewarm $3.6 million. The total narrowly topped “Rio 2” ($3.3 million) for fourth place on Friday, although that order will likely change by the end of the weekend.

New release “The Quiet Ones” made a quiet debut with just $1.5 million Friday. It landed in sixth place.
