Coldplay’s “Midnight,” Lindsey Stirling’s “Shatter Me” Erupt on iTunes

“Midnight,” the song that gave Coldplay fans their first taste of the band’s upcoming album “Ghost Stories,” has discovered its time to shine on iTunes.

The song, for which comparisons have been made to the sound of Bon Iver, had surged to number three on iTunes by press time on Monday.

First released to YouTube on February 25–days before official single “Magic” made its debut–“Midnight” has already accumulated 13 million views on the web’s leading online video destination. It landed on iTunes this week in support of the band’s new album.

“Ghost Stories,” which features “Magic” and “Midnight,” hits North American shelves on May 19.

— Though not quite as explosive, Lindsey Stirling’s new release “Shatter Me” has also made an impact on iTunes.

The violinist’s new track, which features vocals from Halestorm’s Lzzy Hale, had ascended to nineteen on the overall iTunes single sales chart by press time.
