Rock Radio Hooked on Three Days Grace’s “Painkiller”

It is not yet contending for dominance with format leaders like Chevelle’s “Take Out the Gunman” and The Pretty Reckless’ “Heaven Knows,” but it soon will be.

“Painkiller,” the latest from Three Days Grace, continues to explode at active rock radio. The format’s eleventh-most-played song over the trailing seven days (up from #23 in the week prior), the single was also the week’s most-added track.

Twenty active rock stations picked up the single, which showcases new lead singer Matt Walst. Avenged Sevenfold’s “This Means War,” the format’s next-most-added track, launched at sixteen new stations this week.

Other songs with notable station pickups include Redlight King’s “Times are Hard” (10), Adelitas Way’s “Dog on a Leash” (8), Avatar’s “Bloody Angel” (6) and Hellyeah’s “Sangre por Sangre” (6).
