5 Seconds of Summer’s “She Looks So Perfect” Rises to Top 10

Some success stories catch the music industry by surprise. This is not one of those tales.

5 Seconds of Summer’s “She Looks So Perfect,” finally available for purchase in the US iTunes store, has predictably ascended into the top ten of the digital retailer’s single sales chart.

The title track from the Australian pop-rock sensation’s debut EP, “She Looks So Perfect” had reached as high as #9 as of press time. Fellow EP tracks “Heartache on the Big Screen” (60), “The Only Reason” (76) and “What I Like About You (cover)” (92) were also garnering the attention of music buyers.

Insofar as the EP itself will likely net a debut sales total of at least 170,000 copies, the week is certainly a successful one for 5SOS.

— Also rallying into the top ten is “Human,” the lead single from Christina Perri’s newly released “Head or Heart.” The song, which enjoyed a brief stint in the top ten after its initial release, had steadily been working its way back into the chart’s elite section.

Buzz stemming from the album release finally did the trick; “Human,” which had been lingering in the low-20s and high-teens prior to the release, is back to #10.

“Be My Forever (featuring Ed Sheeran),” another track from Perri’s new album, had reached #105 at press time.
