“American Idol” Confirms Daughtry, “Back to the Start” Theme

If you thought the theme for next week’s Top 8 “American Idol” performance show were indicative of planned involvement from Coldplay or Lily Allen, you would be wrong.

That honor will instead fall to Daughtry, the pop-rock band fronted by former “Idol” finalist Chris Daughtry. The group will perform “Waiting for Superman” on the April 3 results show.

The prior night’s “Back to the Start” performance show, meanwhile, will feature the contestants reprising their original audition songs.

FOX’s “American Idol” airs at 8PM on April 2 and 9PM on April 3.
