“Bates Motel” Ratings Tank to Series Low

It appears any optimism resulting from last week’s “Bates Motel” performance, which included a series high viewership average, was unwarranted.

Monday’s episode, the second of the A&E drama’s new season, delivered series low marks in adults 18-49 and total viewers.

Down 31% in the demo and 28% in viewership, Monday’s “Bates” settled for a 0.9 rating with just 2.21 million viewers. The two worst-performing season one episodes posted 1.0 demo ratings with respective viewership counts of 2.30 million and 2.48 million.
