“Ground Floor” Doesn’t Fall; TBS Confirms Second Season

Not a dominant ratings performer, TBS’ comedy “Ground Floor” performed well enough to warrant a second season.

The cable network announced Thursday that the well-reviewed Bill Lawrence comedy, which stars Skylar Astin, Briga Heelan and John C. McGinley, has been renewed for a second season.

According to TBS, “Ground Floor was one of four TBS series that ranked among basic cable’s Top 10 original sitcoms of 2013 with adults 18-49. In its first season, the show averaged 1.8 million viewers in Live + 7 delivery, including 1.1 million adults 18-49 and 575,000 adults 18-34.”

The ten episode second season is slated to premiere in late 2014.
