Jimmy Fallon, Will Smith Tribute “The Carlton” on “The Tonight Show”

On his “Late Night,” Jimmy Fallon and frequent collaborator Justin Timberlake united to perform multiple renditions of “The History of Rap.”

On the inaugural episode of his “The Tonight Show,” Fallon linked with Will Smith to tour the “Evolution of Hip-Hop Dancing.”

The segment, which paid homage to everything from The Running Man to the Robot to The Dougie to Twerking, also made sure to tackle a dance craze of relevance to Smith.

At one point in their journey, Fallon and Smith recreated the “Carlton” dance, which Alfonso Ribeiro infamously performed on Smith’s “The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air.”

Aware that the segment would reign as a highlight of the broadcast, NBC quickly issued photos and a video of the laugh-out-loud “Evolution of Hip-Hop Dancing.”
