MK Nobilette, who received buzz as the first openly gay competitor on FOX’s “American Idol,” watched her journey come to an end Thursday night.
An expected elimination, Nobilette’s rendition of “Perfect” failed to ignite judge–or fan–enthusiasm Wednesday night. She reprised her strong “All of Me” in an attempt to win the judges’ save, but the effort proved unsuccessful. Her “American Idol” dream is over.
Contestants Majesty Rose and Dexter Roberts joined Nobilette in the bottom three.
Nine contestants–Rose, Roberts, Jessica Meuse, Alex Preston, Sam Woolf, Malaya Watson, Jena Irene, Caleb Johnson and CJ Harris–remain in the wake of Nobilette’s elimination. They return to the stage next week (and appear in the official photo below).
