Kacey Musgraves Tops Taylor Swift for Best Country Album Grammy

Of the five Album of the Year nominees, Taylor Swift’s “Red” is the only to fall under the country umbrella.

It was not, however, considered the year’s best country album.

That honor instead went to Kacey Musgraves’ “Same Trailer, Different Park,” which claimed the award at Sunday’s 56th Annual Grammy Awards ceremony.

Musgraves’ album beat Swift’s “Red,” Blake Shelton’s “Based on a True Story,” Jason Aldean’s “Night Train” and Tim McGraw’s “Two Lanes of Freedom” to grab the trophy.

And it was not Musgraves’ only victory of the night. In the pre-show portion, Musgraves’ “Merry Go ‘Round” was named Best Country Song.
