One Direction’s “Diana” Flies Past Justin Bieber on iTunes Sales Chart

Justin Bieber’s latest “Music Mondays” song quickly shot to the top of the iTunes Single Sales chart, but thanks to a new release from a formidable foe, it did not stay there long.

“Diana,” the latest promotional release from boy band One Direction, exploded past Bieber’s new “PYD” to reach the apex of iTunes’ chart by Monday afternoon.

At press time, sales for “Diana” were outpacing those of the Bieber song by a ratio of almost five-to-one.

In surging to number one on the strength of monstrous sales, One Direction follows in the impressive footsteps of fellow “Midnight Memories” tracks “Best Song Ever” and “Story of My Life.” The album officially releases on November 25.

“PYD,” featuring R. Kelly, is the latest release under Bieber’s “Music Mondays” umbrella.
