One missed a week. One missed three. This week, the breaks for both FOX comedies come to an end. And they do so with newsworthy episodes.
For “New Girl,” the former, this Tuesday’s episode marks the return of Coach in an episode titled, you guessed it, “Coach.” For “Glee,” the latter, this Thursday’s episode “A Katy or a Gaga” features the debut of “American Idol” finalist Adam Lambert.
Initially booked as a “New Girl” regular, Damon Wayans, Jr., who played “Coach,” was forced to depart the series when ABC renewed his first position series “Happy Endings.” Instead of re-casting his role, “New Girl” kept the door open for a return by introducing Lamorne Morris as new character Winston.
With “Happy Endings” now cancelled, the opportunity for a Coach return is finally here. And it happens this Thursday.
“Glee,” meanwhile, returns from its month-long hiatus with “A Katy or a Gaga,” an episode focused on, you guessed it, Katy Perry and Lady Gaga. Offering more than a timely tribute, Thursday’s “Glee” also features Lambert’s first appearance as Starchild.
