Jim Parsons Returns to the Stage: “Big Bang Theory” Star Wins Emmy

Lightning was not going to strike twice in the Outstanding Lead Actor in a Comedy Series category.

After “Two and a Half Men” veteran Jon Cryer surprisingly took the Emmy last year, the awards ceremony returned to the predictable realm this year by awarding “The Big Bang Theory” standout Jim Parsons his third Emmy.

Parsons had previously won the award during the 2010 and 2011 broadcasts. He was first nominated the year before.

The “Theory” actor beat out Louis CK, Alec Baldwin, Don Cheadle, Matt LeBlanc and Jason Bateman.
