Eminem Releases New Song “Berzerk,” Samples Billy Squier

Less than 48 hours after confirming the impending release of his “Marshall Mathers LP 2,” Eminem has officially introduced the world to his latest single.

And while a low-key, relaxed vibe might be the name of the game for some of today’s leading emcees, intensity remains the preferred territory for Slim Shady.

Produced by Rick Rubin, the rock-rap track features Em’s aggressive delivery over a chaotic backing track that notably samples Billy Squier’s “The Stroke.” Samples from and nods to The Beastie Boys only add to the frenzy, assuring that the song’s title “Berzerk” is entirely appropriate.

Released officially for download Tuesday, “Berzerk” functions as the lead single for “MMLP2.” The full album is due this November.
