The “Glee” casting news chain has been in full force in recent weeks, and it continues with the news that Phoebe Strole will recur during the show’s fifth season.
Lea Michele, who co-starred with Strole in “Spring Awakening,” first broke the news on her Twitter account Thursday.
Deadline added more details Friday morning, revealing that Strole will play Penny Owen, a college sophomore with nursing school aspirations. Along the way, she’ll serve as a love interest for Chord Overstreet’s Sam.
“Glee” returns for its fifth season on September 26.
