UFC President Offers Nick Diaz Fight with Lyoto Machida

Though Nick Diaz is technically retired, most do not expect him to find permanent comfort on the sidelines.

And if he does indeed seek another fight in the UFC, the promotion’s president Dana White has an intriguing offer on the table: a Middleweight scrap with former Light Heavyweight Champion Lyoto Machida.

“I talked to Diaz today, and I made him an offer, so we’ll see what happens,” said White in a Q&A session for Saturday’s UFC on FS1 show in Boston. “He had been talking about going to 185 pounds. Machida has been talking about going to 185 pounds. So we wanted to see if he wanted to fight Machida at 185.”

Earlier this week, White had discussed Vitor Belfor as a potential Middleweight opponent for Machida.
