The CW Renews “Hart of Dixie,” “Beauty and the Beast,” Orders “Vampire Diaries” Spin-Off

With the near-entirety of its roster facing ratings woes, it is very difficult to predict which “bubble” series will survive on The CW.

Some “insiders” were suggesting freshman series “Beauty and the Beast” would not do so, but The CW confirmed otherwise today. The network announced that “Beauty” and “Hart of Dixie” have been picked up for their second and third seasons, respectively.

The network, which has already confirmed “Arrow,” “Supernatural” and “The Vampire Diaries” for next year, also picked up “Diaries” spin-off “The Originals.”
