HBO Quickly Renews “Game of Thrones” for Season Four

Another “Game of Thrones” premiere, another quick season renewal.

After opening its third season to a record 4.4 million viewers, “Game of Thrones” has already won a fourth season at premium cable network HBO.

“Game of Thrones”‘ successful season two premiere was enough to earn a quick third season renewal, and this Sunday’s performance was even more impressive. “Thrones” not only set a viewership record but did so against the record-setting season finale of “The Walking Dead,” which drew a monster 6.4 adults 18-49 rating and 12.4 million viewers.

The first “Thrones” airing scored a 2.4 in that ad-friendly demo.
