“The Real World: Portland” Scores Weak Premiere Ratings

Reality was very harsh for MTV this week; ratings for the season premiere of “The Real World: Portland” were way off the map.

Not even one of the top 100 cable broadcasts in the adults 25-54 category, the episode averaged only 720,000 viewers. It posted a very soft 0.4 adults 18-49 rating.

Last year’s series, which was set in St. Thomas, premiered to a 0.6 rating and 1.2 million viewers. At the time, its performance was considered very disappointing.
