Report: Backstage Heat Keeps Former WWE Diva From Returning
Following the Bella Twins’ return to WWE television last week, F4WOnline.com reported that the company had been reaching out to several other former Divas to help liven up the stagnate women’s division.
Among those on the list of targets were Kelly Kelly, Maryse Ouelett and Maria Kanellis.
Kelly and Maryse declined the initial invitations, but insofar as their rejections were over contract terms, they could theoretically still return if WWE improves its offers.
A Maria return, however, appears less likely.
According to a new report in the Observer Newsletter, while WWE did initially target Kanellis for a comeback, when word of its interest got out to the current women in the lockerroom, they reportedly–based on heat with Kanellis–got the idea nixed.
