“Anger Management” Returns to Lackluster Ratings; “Archer” Leads

Save for its premiere, “Anger Management” was largely a ratings disappointment over its first ten episodes. Still, as a top comedy performer for FX, the ratings were strong enough to warrant a whopping 90-episode renewal from FX.

FX began cutting into that 90 this Thursday, and the show has unfortunately not used its hiatus to grow a bigger fanbase. The hourlong broadcast averaged a soft 0.8 rating with 1.74 million viewers, data that is hardly glowing for the show that marked Charlie Sheen’s return to the sitcom world.

“Archer,” which followed “Anger,” actually reigned as FX’s best performer with young adults. It scored a 1.0 with 1.61 million viewers.

“Legit,” meanwhile, opened to a soft 0.4 rating with 650,000 viewers.
