“Buckwild” Ratings Fall Sharply in Second Week; Show Still Wins Night

The lack of buzz resulting from last week’s “BUCKWILD” premiere was conspicuous, and it is therefore unsurprising that the show did not attract new eyeballs for its second airing.

In fact, the MTV reality series suffered a fairly-sharp drop in the coveted adults 18-49 demographic.

The series, positioned as the heir to the “Jersey Shore” throne, slipped to a 1.0 adults 18-49 rating with 1.85 million viewers across its two episodes this week. That fall amounts to a 28% decline in the young adults demo.

Though “BUCKWILD” won the night among cable originals, its noticeable drop is an irrefutable cause for disappointment.

    I don’t think that Buckwild would have even gotten the attention it did the first week if the senator didn’t start a lot of buzz for them. But even the ladies in my office at DISH will admit that the offer of another Jersey Shore was just too much to pass up. But from what I saw on twitter, all of my friends are still watching. Usually I have to wait until Monday to find out their opinions since I don’t have computer, but that stopped after I got a DISH Hopper. It lets me log on to Twitter and Facebook, so I can chat about the latest shows and gossip without ever leaving the room. And with how many sports, news and other applications it has, I always have plenty of things to talk about.
