Hurricane Sandy Benches CBS’ “How I Met Your Mother,” CW’s “Gossip Girl”

Hurricane Sandy’s havoc will extend to the world of television; at least two networks have confirmed that they have nixed plans to broadcast original episodes Monday night.

CBS, which was due to air new episodes of “How I Met Your Mother,” “Partners,” “2 Broke Girls,” “Mike & Molly” and “Hawaii 5-0,” will instead switch to a combination of repeat episodes and live news coverage of the hurricane.

The CW will also postpone its originals, replacing new episodes of “90210” and “Gossip Girl” with re-runs.

At press time, FOX, ABC and NBC had not revealed any changes to their primetime lineups.
