NBC Gives “Revolution” Full Season Order; “Go On,” “New Normal” Also Safe

After holding impressively steady in the adults 18-49 demographic this week, “Revolution” has earned a full season order at NBC.

The less accurate metered market ratings suggested a steep decline this week, which raised some doubt about whether “Revolution” was doomed to fade the way numerous serialized dramas have in recent seasons. But with help from its “The Voice” lead-in and more engaging content than similarly-skewing offerings, “Revolution” held well enough to get the back nine order from NBC.

Granted, “The Event” also received a back nine order from NBC in 2010-11 and, by the end of its run, had fallen well below the threshold needed for a second season renewal. So while “Revolution” is here for the rest of the season, it has not yet established itself as a long-term option for NBC.

— The network also picked up back nines for comedies “Go On” and “The New Normal.”
