No Surprise in Outstanding Comedy; “Modern Family” Wins Again

Those looking for surprises at the 2012 Emmy Awards will have to be content with Jon Cryer’s Lead Actor win and “Homeland”‘s dominance of the drama category. No surprise was to be had in “Outstanding Comedy Series,” the final category of the night.

“Modern Family” predictably won for the third consecutive season, beating out “Curb Your Enthusiasm,” “Girls,” “The Big Bang Theory,” “30 Rock” and “Veep.”

Earlier in the night, “Family” showrunner Steve Levitan won for Outstanding Directing in a Comedy Series, while co-stars Julie Bowen and Eric Stonestreet won for Supporting Actress and Actor, respectively.
