“Homeland” Stays Hot; Damian Lewis Upsets Bryan Cranston for Emmy Win

“Homeland” is making its presence felt in the early drama rounds at the 2012 Emmy Awards.

After scoring a big win in the writing category, “Homeland” also claimed victory in the Outstanding Lead Actor section. Damian Lewis upset three-time champ Bryan Cranston (“Breaking Bad”) to win for his work as “turned” prisoner of war Nicholas Brody.

In addition to Cranston, Lewis also beat out sentimental favorite Jon Hamm, who has yet to win for his work on “Mad Men,” Michael C. Hall (“Dexter”), Hugh Bonneville (“Downton Abbey”) and Steve Buscemi (“Boardwalk Empire”).
