Whether this will earn him a guaranteed Middleweight Championship shot remains to be seen, but Michael Bisping definitely looked solid in victory over the always-dangerous Brian Stann.
As usual, Stann showed off some punching power, but Bisping’s attack was too varied to get bogged down by Stann’s boxing. Bisping mixed it up with strikes and successfully executed four takedowns, parlaying his technical skill and great cardio to get the convincing decision win over Stann.
Stann connected with a big shot at the end of the first round and displayed some very aggressive striking in round three. But when push came to shove, he never gained enough control of the Octagon to completely put Bisping out of the way, and he was forced to watch as “The Count”‘s hand was raised at the fight’s culmination.
