Indiana Pacers Might Swipe Gerald Green from Brooklyn Nets

The Indianapolis Star reported Wednesday that the Indiana Pacers are on the verge of offering Gerald Green a three-year, $10 million contract, which would effectively assure he will not be with the Nets next season.

At present, the Nets would be unable to match such an offer and thus lose out on a player who impressed as a valuable backup late last season.

The Pacers remain committed to bolstering their wings, and assuming the athletic Green plays the way he did for the Nets last season, he would be a solid pickup for the team.

Mike Wells of the Star noted that free agents Courtney Lee and OJ Mayo might be priced too high for the Pacers, which explains the interest in Green.
