Despite Daytona Delay, John Cena Confirms He’ll Join Rock at WWE RAW

Don’t expect John Cena to prove hypocritical ahead of his WWE WrestleMania 28 match with Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson.

Despite being scheduled to appear at NASCAR’s Daytona 500, which has been delayed until Monday night, Cena announced this afternoon that he will definitely be appearing on Monday’s WWE RAW.

If the race goes as planned Monday, Cena will miss it. If it is delayed until Tuesday, the popular WWE Superstar still hopes to attend.

Monday’s RAW features the on-air return of The Rock, who will be live in the building for the show. Throughout the year-long build to the ‘Mania match, Cena, in character, has ridiculed Rock for departing for Hollywood and then seldomly appearing on RAW–and often via satellite–despite declaring in a 2011 promo that he was “never leaving.”
