FOX Says Lea Michele Sticking with “Glee,” No Spin-off Planned

As if the recent, depleted ratings did not provide the answer, FOX has now made it official: there will be no “Glee” spin-off.

The network’s entertainment president Kevin Reilly confirmed at the Television Critics Association winter press tour event that the relevant characters will graduate from McKinley this year, and a second show chronicling their college/post-high school journeys will not be developed.

That noted, Reilly did confirm that female lead Lea Michele, who portrays Rachel Berry, one of those high school senior characters, will indeed be back for season four. He did not confirm the statuses of other leads like Cory Monteith (Finn) and Chris Colfer (Kurt).

n terms of where the show goes once its core characters graduate high school, Reilly would only tease, “So those characters will graduate and it’s led to a very interesting idea that I think is going to really give us something cool to dig into next season. That’s all I can say about it now,” said Reilly.
