UFC’s Dana White Says Cyborg Will Be Stripped of Title After Drug Fail

Though the Strikeforce brand has not made any specific, official announcement, if UFC’s President Dana White is to be believed, Cris “Cyborg” Santos will be stripped of her championship after testing positive for an anabolic steroid.

“She’s getting stripped of the [women’s featherweight] belt,” said White on ESPN’s “MMA Insiders” radio show.

The California State Athletic Commission announced Friday that Cyborg tested positive for stanozolol metabolites in conjunction with her December 17 title defense against Hiroko Yamanaka. Due to the test, which was conducted the day prior to her fight, Cyborg’s victory has been changed to a no contest.

Assuming the finding holds up, she would likely be suspended for one year.
