Urijah Faber, Dominick Cruz Tapped for “Ultimate Fighter” Debut on FX

Long rumored as potential “Ultimate Fighter” coaches, Dominick Cruz and Urijah Faber will finally lead opposing teams into battle on UFC’s long-running reality series.

The company confirmed today that Faber and Cruz will appear as coaches on the upcoming fifteenth season of “The Ultimate Fighter,” which moves to FX as part of UFC’s long-term deal with FOX Sports. That fifteenth season premieres this spring.

Unlike the past fourteen editions, season fifteen will be filmed in real-time, with the weekly fights taking place live each week. The non-fight footage will feature content filmed during the week leading up to the fight, making for the first time the show will not be filmed months in advance.

The real-time nature of the series also means that Faber and Cruz, who will fight for Cruz’s bantamweight title after the season ends, will have to train for their match during the actual season.
