“Glee” Ratings Drop Despite Less Competition, “New Girl” Wins Night

Many believe the recent storyline involving Santana has spurred a creative rebound for “Glee,” but based on Tuesday’s fast national ratings, viewers remain somewhat unimpressed.

Despite facing its least competition to date, the FOX comedy was only good for a 2.9 adults 18-49 rating and 7.1 million viewers. An upward adjustment in the finals would prevent it from claiming sole ownership of a “season low” tag, but it is still somewhat disappointing that the show dropped, for its annual sectionals hour, following a string of episodes that had been well-received by critics.

FOX’s “New Girl” followed at 9PM, winning the night with a 3.4 rating and 6.8 million viewers. It was down slightly from its last airing.

“Raising Hope” followed at a 2.2 with 4.6 million.
