“The X Factor” Ratings Fall Hard Against “Dancing with the Stars”

A few weeks ago, “The X Factor” scored big time with a special Tuesday night airing. That was not the case this week.

Shuffled a day earlier due to the Thanksgiving holiday, “X Factor” aired its performance show Tuesday to a mere 3.2 adults 18-49 rating and 9.3 million viewers. That easily makes for the worst Tuesday or Wednesday performance to date.

Between the shuffled timeslot, the beginning of travel for Thanksgiving and heavy competition from the “Dancing with the Stars” finale, there is a lot to justify the drop. This should not be taken as a major condemnation of where “X Factor” is as a draw right now.

At the same time, the decline does seem to rule out the notion that Astro’s meltdown on last week’s show generated any noteworthy interest in the follow-up.

“Dancing,” for the record, posted a 4.1 with 19.5 million viewers, soft numbers for a season finale.

  1. The talent on the x factor is the worst of all similar shows. Can’t wait for the voice to return. I occasionally watch the x factor for the same reason I watch any train wreck. And please no more sob stories on the x factor. They are really becoming annoying .
