So much for last week’s stabilization.
While it appears Halloween had a clear, adverse impact on ratings for broadcast shows, the downward bias targeted some shows more than others. Among the more significant victims was “Two and a Half Men,” which fell sharply to a 4.7 adults 18-49 rating with 13.8 million viewers.
Coming a week after the show seemed to have ended its decline as viewers adjusted to Ashton Kutcher in the lead role, the decline is especially-disappointing.
In terms of audience share, “Men”‘s performance in the young adults demo fell slightly from a 13 to 12. That means that while lower viewership levels for Halloween are definitely worthy of blame, it would be irresponsible to assume that there was not also weaker interest in this week’s telecast.
Interestingly, “Men” was not the most disappointing entry at 9PM. That honor instead belongs to FOX’s “House,” which fell to a very low 2.5 with 6.6 million viewers. The days of calling “House” a hit appear to have long past. Earlier in the night, FOX’s “Terra Nova” only mustered a 2.1 with 6.4 million viewers. At this point, it seems very plausible that “Terra”‘s run will culminate at the end of its first season.
I’m not surprised the ratings keep dropping. The writing is getting worse and worse and there is absolutely no chemistry between the characters anymore. Even Alan and his mom are pathetic together. It’s absolutely sickening how all the women, of all ages mind you, drool and lust over Walden. MAJOR YUK. He’s a whiny, not funny, pathetic idiot with not an adult thought in him. He has no substance. The affair with Alan’s mom was the last straw. Disgusting.
Turn the lights out – show’s over!
Very sad to see the show getting more boring each week. The producer should bring Charlie back, even as a ghost!
Until then, there are plenty of old shows that we can still watch though syndication.

The writers on HOUSE are out of touch. Seems they’ve made their paychecks now and don’t really give a flip about the show anymore. What a disservice to Hugh and fans. They should all be fired for writing such crap…and shame on David Shore for accepting such SUBpar ‘writing’, if you can even call it THAT!

The show is pathetic!! The writers characters are gross, and disgusting! There is very little redeeming value in any character! No chemistry. Just disgusting immature behavior. The show is going down fast, and I watched Monday night to give it one more chance. But once again I was disappointed!!! I am afraid that was the last one I’ll watch. I don’t find Ashton funny, and allen is not that funny and Jake is ridiculous. somewhere the comedy has escaped, and now it is just awful!

Ditto to everything LustyMama said! Last night was my last time to watch. The humor is so poor that it is almost insulting.Can’t help but wonder what executive thought that Ashton was funny…NOT! This show went from edgy and clever to dumb and dumber.
Years before i was all excited to watch the new year. I guess les moonves and lorre do not care if this show sinks. the writting and acting is gone. at least charlie and berta could have kept this show alive. where’s herb and judith ? herb always made a show worth watching. goodbye two and a half men you can always can fill the time slot with a reality show even they could do better !
I have said on this topic many times. charlie was a bad boy in the 80’s denise and brooke thought they could change him and lorre wanted a show built around him. He did not want to do the last two years because the writting got so bad but they threw alot of money for him to stay and if the writting is the same mess as this season so wonder he wanted out. He has another show and i am sure not at the same money but with the money he recieved from the law suit plus what he already has he will survive and with new writting he’s winning it’s just to bad the old cast can’t go with him before the old old show tanks.
TWO AND A HALF MEN NO LONGER FUNNY! Ashton is NOT FUNNY – he is weird. Nobody has any chemistry with each other. I want Charlie to come back – Chuck and Charlie shake hands and say sorry and get the show back. Or, call it a night and let it go.
I used to be a big fan of the show when charlie was in it. i watched the new season with ashton, i dont find it funny anymore, i think it was a mistake lore did by firing charlie, he was the show. I will keep watching the rest of the season, and if it doesnt get any better it will be my last season. Who knows if the humur stays the same,cbs might even cancel the show.

The show probably really jumped the shark a year or two ago. Even with Charlie it was losing it’s sharpness in humor and situations were getting too crude. Now, the Waldo character is pathetic. Alan and Berta who were so good playing off Charlie can’t carry the show. The mother was good playing of all of them. Jake hasn’t added anything since he grew up. Writing is desperate, Waldo and the mother getting it on…stupid, stupid. Thank goodness for the reruns of the early years

I agree with all of the above. Even though Sheen displayed his disgust with Lorre in an unappealing method – he probably was right. Waldon and the mother in bed together? Disgusting. Cmon Lorre, grow up…just mediate with Sheen for Pete’s sakes. The so called writers of the show have completely destroyed all the chemistry with each person – bottom line there is no chemistry anymore…Sheen was the best and Lorre, you are going to regret not bringing Charlie Sheen back. I feel bad for the actors. I really do and it’s because of your stubborness. Kutcher does not fit…who the heck ever thought he could replace Sheen? Nobody can….really used to enjoy the show. Don’t even watch anymore…but still enjoy the reruns. What a shame and your difficulties with Sheen (if you become mature) could clear up. Sheen is right..he is winning and Lorre, you are losing!
We actually forgot to watch “Men” last Monday. After thinking about it, we’re done with the show. All the tension and interplay they used to have with Charlie, much like what “Odd Couple” had, is gone. Now just a couple of stupid goofballs and a kid who is not funny. Too bad.
Bring Charlie back. The show will never stay afloat with him.
why can’t CBS just admit that they made a mistake with this douchbag kutcher and get it overwith already, this show should of bowed out gracefully while it was ontop instead of this long and winding death roll, the dynamic between Charlie and Alan and the rest of the cast can’t be duplicated or re-organized in2 something it’s not, end of story, let the show go CBS really this is getting pathetic now
