After Ratings Uptick, “Ringer” Gets Full Season at The CW

When ratings standards are low, slight upticks can carry big implications.

Tuesday’s episode of “Ringer” rebounded to a 0.8 adults 18-49 rating, improving on last week’s shockingly-low 0.6. The result? A full season pickup from The CW.

Though that 0.8 is below what The CW initially wanted to see out of its Sarah Michelle Gellar vehicle, it compares favorably to virtually every series on the roster. Veteran series like “Gossip Girl” and “90210” have not been hot this season, while even hit series like “The Vampire Diaries” (still the network’s top series) and “America’s Next Top Model” have disappointed.

“Nikita” has been disastrous in its Friday timeslot.

Of “Ringer”‘s freshmen classmates, “H8R” has already been cancelled and “Hart of Dixie” and “The Secret Circle” have been very weak.

(Update: Weak or not, “Hart of Dixie” and “The Secret Circle” have also received full season orders)
