“Terra Nova” Ratings Hold Up, “Dancing with the Stars” Weak Again

Its ratings might have been unspectacular, but FOX’s “Terra Nova” premiere evidently interested viewers. Just about all of them returned for week two.

“Nova” posted a solid 3.1 adults 18-49 rating with 8.3 million viewers, matching last week’s performance in the demo. For a high-concept new drama, that kind of retention is exemplary.

The season premiere of “House” followed with a solid 3.9 adults 18-49 rating and 9.8 million viewers. Though way down from its peak, “House” is still holding up better than its contemporary “Desperate Housewives.”

— Over on ABC, “Dancing with the Stars” continued its run as the worst-performing cycle to date. Monday’s performance show only mustered a 3.1 adults 18-49 rating with 16.5 million viewers. Lead-out “Castle” delivered a 2.6 rating with 11.6 million viewers.
