FOX Touts “New Girl” as Popular With Men, Young Viewers

The reviews, though solid, were not spectacular. Yet “New Girl” parlayed a very successful promotional campaign that highlighted Zooey Deschanel’s quirky charm into big premiere week ratings.

That ratings strength held up for week two–the show lost less than 10% of its audience in adults 18-49, a great accomplishment for a heavily-sampled new series.

Very happy with its numbers, FOX took to its research Twitter to post some facts about the show’s audience:

— Last week, “New Girl” was second only to the monster “Two and a Half Men” premiere in adults 18-34 (5.6 rating).

— At a 4.4 rating, “New Girl” won the nightly adults 18-49 battle for a second consecutive week this Tuesday.

— “New Girl” was Tuesday’s number one show with men 18-34 and male teens.
